Global Warming, well that's not funny...is it?

This postcard caught my eye and I thought I had to share it with you – I think this is the perfect example of the power of communication,  especially communication that is different, and in this case, a cartoon!  This postcard was just part of a bigger picture, a competition which is part of a project called Good 50x70.

The competition worked like this -  7 briefs from 7 charities on 7 issues that affect thousands of people around the world, covering a variety of social and environmental issues. All you had to do was pick a topic that inspired you and submit a poster on that issue.

This poster was just one of the many winners from the category Global warming entitled  Prepare to Migrate’

What I really loved was how simple the concept was, yet how effective it had been at getting people involved in such a range of topics and express their views. It may have just been a simple cartoon, but it caught my eye!

Great picture - I saw an exhibition of this competition a couple of months ago on holiday and was really impressed! Oddly, though it was all of the ones that used animals in reference to climate change that have especially stuck in my mind - this one and another which showed a penguin holding a banana... Anyway if the Futerra offices need any more inspiring artwork for their walls I suppose you now know where to go!
