Am I bovvered?

Am I bovvered?
I was reading a Seth Godin post about pretending to care and his closing statement really resonated with behaviour change learning in New Rules: New Game.

“So, the essence of the lesson here is this: if people start out pretending to care, next thing you know, they actually do care. They like the positive feedback and they like the way being kind makes them feel. It spreads. It sticks.”
— Seth

New Rule #23 is about labelling people and suggests that if people start wearing a mental badge related to a positive behaviour, they will be more likely to respond to calls of action to undertake that behaviour. They will begin to own it.

And all of this leads me to ruminate on the potential for mobilizing even more people to act when you start introducing words seldom-heard in the context of sustainability such as, ‘identity’ and  ‘recognition’.
