Plastic wars

Plastic wars
So glad to see the BBC have picked up on my story about waste plastic ;) and have been running a series of reports relating to this very issue, see here. However not so glad to see a report that the British Plastics Federation (BPF) are claiming it's biased reporting and that it is the lack of efficient waste management systems that is creating the problem!

What! this is outrageous, it's like saying that the throngs of murderers at large are not to blame, it's the lack of a good police force to catch them!

or even that the rottweiler was not to blame it was the lack of a suit of armour on little johnny that really caused the tragic outcome....

Just read the report on the Plasticsand Rubber Weekly site linked to above - I am gobsmacked!! Check out this comment one plastic fan has posted:"...Plastic waste clearly is problematic to marine life, but the long time it takes to break down is an advantage in terms of locking up carbon from petrochemicals and further reduces carbon foot print from transporting goods...."so let's all dump our plastic in the ocean to save the planet! Come on!!!
