Chief Executive and Co-founder

Solitaire co-founded Futerra convinced that a new approach to marketing and PR was needed to engage businesses and consumers on sustainability. Since then, she’s led our team and her passion for professional green communications is a strong as ever.
She is recognised as a top specialist in this area and provides senior counsel to our corporate and government clients.
Solitaire holds a Masters degree in Sustainable Development and is a member of the United Nation’s Sustainable Lifestyles Taskforce, a board member of Tomorrows Company, and has recently been chosen as one of fifteen ‘London Leaders’ by Mayor Ken Livingstone.
Ed Gillespie
Creative Director and Co-founder

Ed Gillespie has driven the creative direction of Futerra's work since our foundation. He guards against green-wash while putting some fun and passion into sometimes complex messages.
His interesting career history includes working for the Natural History Film Unit, as a marine biologist in Australia, New Caledonia and Orkney and on environmental issues for Transport for London.
Ed has Masters degrees in both Marine Conservation and Sustainable Development, and is a Trustee of Anti-Apathy. Ed is recently back from sabbatical, having travelled around the world without flying. You can read about his journey at www.lowcarbontravel.com.
Lucy Shea
Strategy Director

Lucy oversees several teams in Futerra and drives our international expansion. An expert on internal and external communications for sustainable development, Lucy is also a highly experienced facilitator, with a slightly guilty carbon footprint from regular international training on climate change communications.
Lucy is the author of Communicating Sustainability, a special UN Environment Programme report, and is a member of the UN’s Sustainable Lifestyles Taskforce. She is also co-founder of the RE:Fashion Awards, see www.refashionawards.org.
Mary Brennan
Finance Director

She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has worked in both commerce and industry. After qualifying in South Africa, she worked in the development sector, working with NGOs and community-based organisations managing finance, organisational development, facilitation, training and conflict resolution.
